Baby Bella Mushroom

We love mushrooms. We always cook them as side of our meat dishes. I believe that portabella mushrooms are really good. The price of portabella mushroom is higher than the white mushrooms. Baby bella mushrooms are cheaper than portabella so most of the times this is the kind that we buy.

Anyway, I love baby bella when cooked as whole. The picture above is a baby bella mushrooms and onion cooked in butter. Delicious!!!

Beef in Oyster Sauce

I admit this is one of the best dish that I ever discovered. Sometimes, I just wanna experiment on dishes. I have known that beef and oyster sauce are really a perfect match. So, I tried to spice it up so I ended up this dish. It was really surprising how good it was. This is very easy so perhaps you would try this dish.

Ingredients:
Beef (cut thinly in bite size)
green bell pepper
carrots
mushroom
cooking wine
garlic powder
onion
pepper
oyster sauce
cooking oil

Directions:
  • Marinade beef in cooking wine and oyster sauce seasoned with garlic powder and pepper for at least an hour. (The longer the better)
  • Sautee onion and add marinaded beef. Add a little water to cook the beef fully.
  • Add carrots and mushroom. Cook for two minutes.
  • Add green pepper and cook for one minute
  • Serve immediately because if you let the dish stay in the hot pan it will overcook the veggies.

Tip: Be sure not to overcook the vegetables. Veggies are sweeter when it is not well cooked.

Shrimp Stuffed Mushroom

I always wanted to make a stuff mushroom but I didn't have the time and the motivation for it. Last night, I when I checked our fridge, the mushroom got my attention and so I decided to finally make the shrimp stuffed mushroom. This is the first time that I ever make this recipe so it is somewhat an experiment and not sure if Dave and I will like it. As it turned out, the recipe was so good and we enjoyed it.

Ingredients:
Mushroom
Diced onion
Diced bell pepper
Diced carrots
Shrimp (cut in small pieces and pound)
flour

Shredded cheese (optional)

Directions:

Melt butter and sautee onions, mushroom stem, bell pepper, carrots and shrimp. Cook until all the juices evaporated. Set aside.

Melt butter, add flour and mix thoroughly. Slowly add half and half until you will make a dough like consistency. Let cool.

Mix the flour mixture and the sauteed vegetables and shrimp.

Melt butter and apply in mushroom heads. Stuffed the mushroom. Top with shredded cheese.
Bake at 375 for 10minutes or until golden brown. Serve.

Steak and Mushroom

Steak and mushroom is one of our favorite dinners. Whenever we go to any steakhouses, we always compare our own steak and mushroom to theirs and most of the time we always say ours is better.. but of course we could be biased too! lol.... Steakhouses do serve really good bread... I am even wondering if can I just go to a steakhouse and order just bread???? What do you all think?

My all time favorite steak and mushroom recipe:

Ingredients (for steak)

2 pcs t-bone or rib eye steak
Dale seasoning
A1 Steak Sauce

Directions:Marinade the steak. Put the oven to broil. When oven is ready. Put the steak in the grill rack and broil for 9 minutes in each side depending on how you want your steak to be (9 minutes is well done, i prefer mine to be medium done). Serve with A1 Steak Sauce.

The secret (which of course is no longer a secret since I am blogging it) is to marinade the meat with Dale Seasoning for at least 30 minutes.

Ingredients (for mushroom)

1 80z fresh whole baby bella mushroom ( cut in half)
1 medium size onion (cut in quarter)
3tbsp butter
black pepper
powdered garlic

Directions:Melt the butter. Add onions, stir and cook for 1 minute. Add mushrooms. Season with black pepper and powdered garlic. Cook slow until mushroom is done. Drain and serve.

Enjoy eating!!!!
